How Should Christians Disagree?

Christians will disagree. Scripture assumes this. The question is not whether disagreement exists, but how it is handled.

“Speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.”

Ephesians 4:15

Truth and love are not competing values. Scripture consistently holds them together.

What disagreement should look like

  • Honest, not hostile
  • Scripture-centered, not personality-driven
  • Humble, not dismissive
  • Aimed at understanding, not winning

Christlike disagreement protects dignity even while seeking clarity.

Scripture warns against quarrels that produce division without growth. Unity does not require uniformity, but it does require love.
